My hobby

What would be life without a hobby? Hobbies among other things make human life meaningful, give us joy and relaxation. People have different hobbies – painting, stamp collecting, cooking, playing musical instruments, doing sports, shopping, etc. My favourite hobbies are: dogs, travelling and photography.

Dogs are my passion, my obsession and my greatest pleasure. I find dog psychology very intriguing and I spend a lot of time reading books devoted to that topic. It is surprising how dogs perceive reality and how different from humans they are. In my opinion, the most interesting breeds are among Spitz-type dogs. I own 2 Japanese Akitas and one Siberian Husky. Their beautiful look matches even more beautiful personality. They are highly intelligent, independent and unafraid. What is very important to me is their lack of aggression, friendly attitude and endless energy. Apart from being wonderful companions, they are also outstanding at dog sports.

My other hobbies are linked together. I travel in order to see new places and when I get there I take a lot of pictures. I think that photos are the best souvenir and help people memorise the most splendid moments of their lives. Although I love being at home with my dogs, my itchy feet never let me stay there too long. I am not like an ordinary tourist and I never follow the beaten track. I strongly believe that the best way to learn about the country is to meet local people, talk to them and observe their customs. Nowadays, travelling is much easier and cheaper due to low-cost airlines and that gives me a great opportunity to visit many desirable locations.

I think that having a hobby is essential for a human being. It develops us, broadens our horizons, has an anti-stress effect and allows us to get more out of our lives. A hobby reflects the inside of a person and is an indicator of who we are.
