Young people should leave home at 16. Do you agree or disagree?

It really depends on the situation but I think that 16 years of age is definitely too early. For many teenagers it is a very difficult time in their lives with regards to school and personal choices, and they shouldn’t be left on their own. I believe they still need their parents’ attention. They are not yet prepared for an adult life. In Poland people usually don’t leave their family home until they move to a different city to study or they start working. Even this happens either when they are at least 19 or even after graduating from university.

I definitely support this view. Young people at the age of 16 are ready to step out of their parents’ house and face the reality of living on your own, with everyday hardships of life and struggles with work. Leaving their mum’s dinners and dad’s money at this age would surely force them to grow up and mature more quickly than they otherwise would. This way we would stop having to listen about 16-year-olds dropping out of school and becoming unemployed or engaging in dangerous types of entertainment just because they lack fun and excitement. Having no one to rely on financially could teach them responsibility and dedication.
