Travelling to foreign countries is more dangerous than it used to be. Do you agree or disagree?

I agree with this statement. Today, when travelling and tourism has become so widespread and common, pickpockets only wait for the right occasion to leave us without money and documents. Prejudice is also stronger than ever, contrary to what is usually thought, and foreign travels can make us aware of it in the worst way possible. The locals also learned to take advantage of the fact that tourists don’t know the country they arrived in and frequently don’t understand its language and currency, so they often charge their guests much more than they normally would.

No, I don’t agree with this. I travel a lot and I think it is becoming safer. Before travelling to a foreign countrywe are better equipped with knowledge about what to expect as now we have greater access to information. We also know other languages, or at least English, and this takes away any potential problems related to communication and makes it easier and safer to travel around. Of course sometimes it can be dangerous, but notmore than living in our own country. We all know that the world is not a safe place in general and you can spot potential threat in every place or country you go to.
