Should mobile phones be banned in schools?

    Generally, students shouldn’t be allowed to use their mobiles phones in classes, but they’d better have them at hand in their school bags. Teachers can’t let them play or use any social media when the time isn’t right. That’s beyond question. However, children should be able to communicate with their parents if it’s necessary. They may sometimes have some unpredictable problems not only at school, but also somewhere outside the building or on the way home, so it’s better for them to have a possibility to inform their families about it in case of emergency. A lot of children have to commute to school by bus, tram or underground because they live quite far away. If the last lesson lasts till 3 or 4 p.m, some of them get home when it’s already dark and dangerous outside.
    If mobile phones are completely banned in a particual school, that means that kids have to leave them at home, and it’s not the best option for safety reasons.
