In what ways are we looking after the world and in what ways are we destroying it?

I think that for most of the time we are destroying our world trying to adapt it to our needs or just not caring for the natural environment. We cut trees out to build motorways, we hunt animals and pollute the surroundings. At the same time we realize that what we do is not right and try to save the world. Once a year, in September, there is a day when everybody cleans up as much of the environment as they can. More and more people recycle rubbish and plant new trees in an effort to balance all the harm we had been doing to our planet for the whole year.
