Do you prefer shopping in large department stores and supermarkets or in small local shops? Why?

I love large stores and supermarkets. My needs are often very unconventional and I don’t like to have to give them up for something plain and popular, which is usually the case when shopping locally. Another thing is that I’m picky and I enjoy having a broad range of items to choose from. Also, bigger department stores let me tick each point on my shopping list all at once since I don’t have to go to different places to buy everything I need.

I certainly prefer doing shopping in small local shops. If I don’t need anything really special I don’t go to the supermarkets because I think it’s a waste of time. Maybe the prices are a little bit lower but we have to spend much more time to buy anything. Another thing is that local shops are owned by local people and doing shopping there supports local economy.
