A letter of apology

Dear Mr. Pollan,
In response to your letter regarding the unsatisfactory service you received when our company installed new furniture in your kitchen, please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience and lack of professional performance that you experienced.
Firstly, there was a problem with the colour of the shelves. As you mentioned, you ordered blue but my company installed green shelves, in fact, the one which were indented for other furniture. Unfortunately, I had to leave the company for two days and I was not able to control my employees. As a matter of fact, I had tried to contact them many times but nobody responded.
Regarding the problems encountered with the time of the installation, it appeared that I was misinformed by my secretary and therefore my workers arrived too late.
I really apologize for that negligence. This is a regrettable accident which should have never happened. Let me assure you that what occurred is not typical of our service. Please allow me to offer a free installation of the proper shelves and 20% discount on one of our products as a compensation.
