Opisywanie swojego zwierzątka (Describing your pet) – Example 1

I don’t have any traditional pets at home like dogs, cats or hamsters, but I’m a proud owner of Gustaw- a cute tarantula which is adored by the whole family.

A lot of people say that  these creatures are disgusting or even bloodcurdling, but they are  just  nice hairy arachnids. I feed Gustaw on worms from my garden, but in the winter I need to buy him food, since he eats minimum three worms a day. He is a real devourer. Gustaw is a young pet so his poison is not that strong. According to the vet he can hurt somebody when he gets older. Tarantulas are able to inject their poison into their ‘enemy’. As far as I know these bites are painful, but not too dangerous. However, keeping Gustaw at home is a huge responsibility. I should always keep it in warm, sterile place, away from neighbours and  give it water.

Gustaw is the pet I’ve always wanted to take care of. I recommend tarantulas to everybody.
