Opisywanie swojego domu (Describing your house) – Example 3

I live in a block of flats in the centre of Wrocław. I’ve always wanted to live in a detached house, but my parents  say that it’s out of the question. 

Our flat consists of two rooms, a very small bathroom and a kitchen. One of the rooms belongs to me and the other one is the living room where my parents spend most of their time. The kitchen is fine, but it could be more spacious. It’s so small that it’s hardly possible to eat dinner with the whole family there. It would be good for maximum two people. I don’t have much furniture in my room, just a bed, a wardrobe and a desk. I decorated the walls with posters and maps. On the desk there are some books and exercise books. There are also some plants on the window-sill. The living room is old- fashioned and  boring. There are just two old armchairs, a wooden table, a couch and a big wardrobe.

If someone lives in a block of flats, they must be lucky to have nice neighbours. Unfortunately, I can’t stand the people next door. They shout at each other so loud that I can’t hear myself think.

I hope that I will be able to live somewhere else when I grow up.
