Opisywanie swoich wakacji (Describing your holidays) – Example 1
Everyone likes holidays because it’s good to go somewhere to relax and have some fun with your family or friends.
I had always dreamt about going to Greece. One day my parents came back from work and told me that my dream would come true. I couldn’t believe my ears. They purchased tickets and prepared everything. My mum insisted on visiting Ithaka, but my dad wanted to see some other Greek islands and he found an offer at the reasonable price. I couldn’t wait for the holidays to come, but there was still one thing I was a little afraid of. I had never travelled by plane before, so I thought that that would be terrifying. Fortunately, I managed to overcome this fear and it turned out that the flight was a real pleasure.
Visiting Kos was an unforgettable experience. It’s an island situated near the coasts of Turkey. The most popular places for tourists are Kardamena and Kefalos because you can find large beaches and surprisingly crystal water there. We spent 7 days in Kefalos, a fabulous village at the west side of the island. As we wanted to go sightseeing instead of just lying on beach, my dad rented a car and we saw lots of interesting places. We admired very famous basilicas in Kamari, the temple of the Goddess Dimitra in the area of Palatia and plenty of amazing monuments.
We were also satisfied with our hotel- ‘Kefalos’. The other guests were mainly middle-aged couples and families with children, so I got to know lots of teenagers from Germany and Russia. Their command of English was quite good so we managed to communicate without any difficulties. As for the room, it was rather small and cosy. There were two beds, a big wardrobe, a small fridge and of course a private bathroom.
Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, so we had to come back to Poland after 7 days. I hope that my parents will take me to Kos again.
