180. Wishes, unreal past
Put the verbs in brackets into correct forms. Do not use short (contracted) forms of verbs.
1. I would rather (not look) after my sister yesterday, but I had no choice.
2. I prefer (wash) dishes rather than (cook) dinner.
3. He had better (go) now.
4. I wish he (stop) complaining but I don’t believe he can change.
5. She would rather her brother (help) her more.
6. I would prefer (play) football rather than (explore) the city.
7. I would rather he (study) more.
8. If only he (not lose) money last Sunday.
9. If only they (be) smarter.
10. We would rather (read) than (go) to the theater.
