A1.4. Preparing for a school day
Hello, my name is James, I am 11 and I would like to tell you how I prepare for my school day. From Sunday to Thursday before going to sleep I check my rucksack to make sure that all the things that I need for the next day in school are there.
First I check my pencil-case. I usually have there a blue pen and two or three pencils. When I have math lessons I always pack my ruler and my rubber too. Thanks to the ruler I can draw triangles and squares. When something doesn’t look how I would like it to look I just use my rubber and start once again. I always make sure that I have all notebooks. Last week I forgot my history notebook and I had to make notes on sheets of paper that I borrowed from my class mate William, but my teacher was angry with me and she said that a diligent student always has their notebooks with them. My sister Anna doesn’t have problems like that. She is 9 years older than me, she studies at the university and she doesn’t have to take any notebooks with her! She only uses her laptop for making notes and I like this solution. However, I don’t have my own laptop. And in here teachers from time to time want to take our notebooks home to check our homework, so a laptop isn’t the best idea for me.
Every morning my mom makes a breakfast for me. She usually gives me a sandwich or a salad in a lunch box and some pennies. We have a canteen at school, so I spend my money there and I buy a soup or something sweet. My mom doesn’t like when I eat sweets, because she thinks they are unhealthy. I know that she is right, so I buy them only from time to time.
